Ottawa Race Weekend is Coming Up!

The nice weather has finally come to Ottawa so find those running shoes and lace up! On May 23rd and 24th the downtown core will once again be home to the annual Tamarack Ottawa Race weekend.

Have you been training for a race, looking for your next chance to support your community, or are you looking for something to do on the long weekend? There’s still time to register for this year’s Tamarack Ottawa Race weekend!

Did you know the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is Canada’s largest running weekend? Last year nearly 50 000 people participated in the six different events, including the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon. The races available include:

  • Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon
  • Scotiabank Ottawa Kids Marathon for CHEO
  • Ottawa 2K
  • HTG Sports Ottawa 5K
  • Ottawa 10K
  • Scotiabank Ottawa ½ Marathon

If you’d like to register, there’s still time! Check out their website, www.runottawa.ca, for more information and to register for your chance to race this season.

Racing aside, on the Celebration Stage in Festival Plaza there will be free, live entertainment beginning on May 22nd. On Saturday night, Roch Voisine will be headlining the evening!

Tamarack Ottawa Race weekend is also hosting a Scotiabank Charity Challenge - Street Party on Sparks Street, Thursday May 21st 11am to 2pm. We hope we see the community out and about to support the 40 charities participating this year. Tamarack Ottawa Race weekend is hoping to raise $500 000 this year. Drop by and help them reach their goal!
