Amateur photographers to swarm the Fall Down Gallery

By: Charlie Crabb

Amateur photographers rejoice, your turn in the spot light is here.

Today, The Fall Down Gallery will be hosting the first ever “Picturama”, a photography exhibition featuring photographs by photographers from all walks of life. Anyone can participate by submitting photos to the gallery ahead of the event, where patrons will be able to purchase any picture for $2. Event organizers hope to hold the exhibit every two months. So, if you weren’t able to submit photos this time around, be ready for the next edition of Picturama in January.

Participant Parisa Ghaffari managed to get her photos in on time for the exhibition tonight, at 6 p.m. She’s excited to display her photographic talents. By day, she’s an architectural technologist.

“I like taking a lot photos of friends and places I go…to show different places people may have never seen.” she says. “I’m an artist, but not a professional artist. So, it’s fun to just get involved in the [art] community. I like that Fall Down does a lot of artist involved programs and events.”

Admission for the event is free. Patrons are asked to RSVP here.
