You and the BIA

A BIA is formed when local business and property owners join together to improve, promote, and undertake initiatives that will help improve their district.  They work closely with the City to organize, finance, and complete local improvements and promotional events for their district. BIAs help promote and support the area with marketing, business recruitment, streetscape management, seasonable décor, and organizing special community events.  City of Ottawa

If you’re currently a member or a potential new member you’ll notice being part of the BIA has a variety of perks and benefits. We offer an assortment of services exclusive to our members and community partners.

What We Offer

Event Promotion: If members and partners are having events, promotions or celebrations, we help promote it through our website and social media. To let us know about events you are planning, send us an email through our contact form (LINK).

Street Maintenance: We work with a variety of services to help keep Bank Street clean, safe, and vibrant. This includes having a staff member cleaning the streets, graffiti removal, maintaining street furniture, light fixtures, seasonal décor, and coordinating with the City to ensure the street’s infrastructure.

Support: We support our members and try our best to help them overcome challenges with their business.  This includes working with the City to advocate for our members’ needs.

Graffiti Removal: Graffiti can have a negative impact on business and can hurt the business financially. We work with an independent graffiti removal service to remove graffiti on the face of buildings in our district. If your business has been tagged, please fill out this form and we’ll work together to remove it. To discourage graffiti we are proud to work with businesses, property owners, and the City in the Mural Program

Newsletter: We send out a newsletter to keep our members informed about what’s happening in the community and what we’re up to.  If you want to sign up for the newsletter, send us an email.

Social Media: We’re happy to use our social networks to share important information about what’s happening in our neighbourhood. We love interacting with our community and members online. It’s fun and provides additional value to our members as we try to help promote events and their content.
