Please join us at Swirl and Twirl on Thursday, May 25, as the Village Legacy Project (VLP), funded through the City of Ottawa and the Bank Street BIA, is one of this year’s benefitting charities. The VLP is researching Ottawa’s extensive LGBT history to be presented in a series of public art projects and a mobile app which features a walking tour of the Village area and beyond.
Swirl and Twirl is fabulous food-, beer- and wine-tasting fundraiser and social event for Ottawa’s LGBT community and its allies. Since 2003, Swirl and Twirl has raised over $78,000 through 12 fundraising events for local charities supporting the NCR’s queer community. You’ll sample delicious products, enjoy a live jazz band and mingle with a fun and sociable crowd. The event is to be held in the beautifully restored Horticulture Building in Lansdowne Park, from 7 to 10pm.
Tickets are only $30 and are available at the BIA office at 400—176 Gloucester Street 10am-5pm daily or online at the Swirl and Twirl Web site at www.swirlandtwirl.ca/tickets. Be sure to indicate the code “VLP” in the box just above the “Add to Cart” button, which allows you to safely buy tickets by credit card through PayPal.
Thanks so much for supporting the Village Legacy Project, and we look forward to seeing you on May 25!
